Through Workforce Australia Local Jobs, the Employment Facilitator for the Hunter region will work with employers and other key local stakeholders to develop employment solutions at a local level and support local people back into work.

Workforce Australia Local Jobs focuses on reskilling, upskilling and employment pathways to assist people to move back into jobs as the economy recovers from COVID-19. The Hunter has a dedicated Employment Facilitator and Support Officer for the region. The Hunter Employment Facilitator chairs a Local Jobs and Skills Taskforce and adheres to the Hunter Local Jobs Plan. Taskforce delegates are members of the local community who have experience in upskilling, reskilling and local economic development. They also connect and collaborate with others to meet local labour market needs. There are various projects funded through a Local Recovery Fund to support projects which meet the priorities identified in the Local Jobs Plan.
